Transparent pricing
Interchange Plus Pricing
For most businesses, Omega recommends our dual pricing program, $0 percentage-based card fees with a simple monthly service. Interchange plus is still a strong option when you want traditional pass-through pricing and full line-item transparency on every transaction.
Dual pricing first
If your goal is to eliminate percentage-based processing fees and keep pricing simple at the register, start with dual pricing. It is the program we steer most new Omega clients toward when it is a fit for how they sell and how their customers pay.
How dual pricing worksWhen interchange plus is the right option
Some merchants prefer—or need—a classic pass-through model: true interchange from the networks, plus a disclosed markup, with every cost visible on the statement. If that describes you, the rest of this page explains how interchange plus works and how it compares to opaque tiered pricing.
What Is Interchange Plus?
Interchange plus (also called cost-plus) pricing passes the true interchange rate set by Visa and Mastercard directly to you, plus a small, fixed markup. Among traditional processing models, it is the most transparent: you see what the card networks charge and what your processor adds.
Compare this to tiered pricing, where processors bundle costs into opaque tiers (Qualified, Mid-Qualified, Non-Qualified) and pocket the difference. Interchange plus often saves businesses 0.5–1.5% versus tiered pricing—but if you are comparing paths at Omega, we still encourage most merchants to review dual pricing side by side with interchange plus before you decide.
Tiered Pricing (Most Processors)
- → Opaque bundles hide true costs
- → Processors profit from rate spread
- → Hidden downgrades cost you more
- → Hard to compare or audit
Interchange Plus (Omega)
- ✓ Full transparency on every transaction
- ✓ True interchange rate + fixed markup
- ✓ Easy to audit and verify
- ✓ Saves most businesses 0.5–1.5%/yr
