Square Online

An online store that does not talk to the register creates oversells and spreadsheet nights. Square Online is built to share catalog and orders with Square POS so pickup, shipping, and the counter stay in one system. Omega helps you decide if Square Online is enough, or if you still need a dedicated gateway and merchant account for a custom site.

  • Shared item library with Square POS
  • Pickup, shipping, and local delivery
  • Not every website should move

Overview

Why operators pick Square Online

Square Online is Square’s ecommerce: pickup, shipping, and local delivery on the same item library as in-person checkout.

Shared item library with Square POS

Stock is not dual-entered when you sell in two channels.

Pickup, shipping, and local delivery

Themes and windows still need setup. That is where a partner saves a weekend of guesswork.

Not every website should move

We will not force Square Online onto a stack that will fail underwriting.

When Square Online is the cleanest path

If you already run Square in person and want a storefront without a second inventory, this is usually the right first store.

  • Pickup, shipping, local delivery
  • Same Square seller account
  • Setup still required for themes and windows

Sync

The register and the site have to agree

In-person and remote payments stay in one account. We treat POS and the online store as one project when you sell both ways.

  • Shared items with Retail or Restaurants
  • BOPIS on Register, Terminal, or Reader
  • Invoices remain a separate remote-pay tool

Gateway

Keep a custom site when that is the better stack

Subscription-heavy brands and some higher-risk verticals often need a dedicated gateway. Bring the URL. We will not pretend every site should rebuild on Square.

  • Existing website can sometimes embed or link Square checkout
  • Custom sites may stay on Authorize.net or NMI
  • Square sets Online plans and processing

Frequently asked questions

Is Square Online the same as Square POS?
No. POS is in-person (and modes for restaurant, retail, bookings, services). Square Online is the storefront. They share a Square account and can share items. We scope both when you sell in two channels.
Can I keep my existing website?
Sometimes. You may embed or link Square checkout, or we may recommend a gateway on the site you already have. Bring the URL to the conversation.
Can Omega still offer Clover instead?
Yes. Square is an addition, not a replacement. If Clover, Union, a vertical POS, or a simple terminal is the better fit, we will say so and quote that path.
