Square Kitchen Display

If the printer is the loudest thing in your kitchen, a KDS is usually the upgrade that actually changes ticket times. Square’s kitchen display pulls from Square POS, online ordering, and supported channels so the line sees one queue. Omega helps you place screens, bump flow, and whether you still need a backup printer.

  • Digital tickets at the pass
  • Online and in-house in one view
  • Backup printer is a choice

Square kitchen display system showing live restaurant tickets

Line

One queue, not three printers

Modifiers stay on the ticket the server just sent.

Workflow

A KDS fails if cooks will not look

We set bump rules from how you plate, not from a demo video.

Sequence

Front of house first

If FOH is still a dumb terminal, fix that before the kitchen waits on a half-installed POS.

Overview

Why operators pick Square Kitchen Display

Square Kitchen Display System puts live tickets in front of the line so expo is not hunting paper, and modifiers do not get lost in a pile.

Square Kitchen Display puts live tickets in front of the line so expo is not hunting paper. It pulls from Square POS, online ordering, and supported channels. Omega places screens and bump flow, and decides whether you still need a backup printer.

Often strongest for

  • QSR
  • Full-service expo
  • Multi-station kitchens
  • Ghost kitchens
  • High modifier menus
  • Digital tickets instead of fading thermal paper at the pass
  • Orders from Square POS, online, and supported delivery channels in one queue
  • Built to sit with Square for Restaurants, not a generic Android tablet farm
  • Helps expo prioritize, bump, and catch modifiers before the plate leaves

Built for how you actually sell

Square sets the product. Omega maps it to your floor, volume, and whether Clover or another system is still the better fit.

Built around Square’s restaurant stack, not a generic Android tablet farm.

Online and in-house in one view

Orders from Square POS, online, and supported delivery channels can share a queue.

Backup printer is a choice

Many kitchens keep one printer. We will not rip every printer on day one if the crew is not ready.

Kitchen

KDS is a workflow buy, not a gadget

If the printer is the loudest thing in the kitchen, a display is usually the upgrade that changes ticket times. Omega walks the line with you.

  • Expo prioritizes and bumps
  • Modifiers stay visible
  • Map screen count to stations

FOH

Handheld, Kiosk, or Register have to send clean tickets

KDS pays off when the front of house is already on Square for Restaurants. We sequence the project so the kitchen is not waiting.

  • Pairs with Handheld and Register
  • Kiosk tickets can land here
  • Confirm KDS if you are on a lighter POS mode

Clover KDS is still on the shelf

We are a Square partner, not a Square-only shop. If Clover’s kitchen tools or another stack is the better fit, we will say so.

  • Square sets KDS hardware and plan rules
  • Clover KDS remains a comparison
  • Omega trains expo, not just ships a screen

What you get with Omega

A partner who still picks up the phone. We help you choose Square, Clover, or another system we already offer, then stay through onboarding.

  • Omega maps screen count to stations so you do not under-buy or over-buy displays

KDS is a workflow buy, not a gadget

A kitchen display fails if cooks will not look at it or if tickets still print in three places. We walk the line with you (or on a live call) and set bump rules that match how you actually plate, not how a demo video plates.

Pair it with the right front of house

KDS pays off when Handheld, Kiosk, or Register are sending clean tickets. If the front of house is still on a dumb terminal, fix that first. Omega sequences the project so the kitchen is not waiting on a half-installed POS.

Frequently asked questions

Do I still need kitchen printers?
Many restaurants keep one backup printer. Most day-to-day routing can live on the display. We will not rip out every printer on day one if your crew is not ready.
Does Square KDS work without Square for Restaurants?
Kitchen display is built around Square’s restaurant stack. If you are on a lighter Square POS mode, we will confirm whether KDS is the right path or if a simpler printer setup is enough.
Is this Square device included with processing?
Square publishes its own hardware pricing and software plans. Through Omega’s Square partnership, we help you choose the right device, confirm what is included, and complete onboarding. Do not assume Clover no-cost placement applies to Square.
Can Omega still offer Clover instead?
Yes. Square is an addition, not a replacement. If Clover, Union, a vertical POS, or a simple terminal is the better fit, we will say so and quote that path.
